Terra Care Essentials delivers on-demand vegetation cover for your area of interest. It aims to provide a consistent and generic approach to mapping of natural environments across the globe, through a harmonized land-cover classification (12 high-level classes) based on biomes and types of landscape to help interpretation at local level. It is intended to be of equal use to thematic experts and non-GIS users.

The classification foreseen aims to provide land-cover information for a wide array of user communities in the environment sector and may be used as a reference by-product to derive more detailed classification or more thematic land cover maps.
